Data Sharing Policy
The Mindoro Journal of Social Sciences and Development Studies (MJSSDS) supports transparency, accountability, and the advancement of knowledge through responsible data sharing, in accordance with internationally recognized ethical publishing standards, including the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Authors are encouraged to make the data underlying their published research openly available whenever possible. Data may include raw datasets, processed data, statistical outputs, code, survey instruments, and other materials necessary to validate the findings of the study. Sharing of data promotes reproducibility, enables secondary analysis, and contributes to the broader scientific community.
Data Availability and Disclosure
Upon submission, authors are required to include a Data Availability Statement indicating whether and how the data supporting the findings can be accessed. This may include:
- Openly accessible repositories or databases (with links provided in the manuscript)
- Data available upon reasonable request from the corresponding author
- Data restricted due to ethical, legal, privacy, or confidentiality concerns
- No data available (with justification, if applicable)
Restrictions on Data Sharing
The journal recognizes that data sharing may be limited in certain circumstances, including but not limited to:
- Protection of human participants’ privacy and confidentiality
- Ethical restrictions imposed by research ethics committees or institutional review boards
- Legal or contractual obligations
- Sensitivity of data involving vulnerable populations or indigenous communities
In such cases, authors must clearly explain the reasons for restricting access to the data.
Data Reuse and Attribution
Where data are shared, appropriate citation and acknowledgment of the original authorship are required. Users of shared data must respect applicable licensing terms and ethical standards governing reuse.
Editorial Expectations
Editors and reviewers may request access to underlying data during the peer review process when necessary to assess the validity and rigor of the study. The journal reserves the right to request supporting data as part of its quality assurance process.
This policy applies to all research articles submitted to the Mindoro Journal of Social Sciences and Development Studies (MJSSDS) and aims to promote responsible data management while respecting ethical and legal limitations.
