Authorship and Contributorship Policy
The Mindoro Journal of Social Sciences and Development Studies (MJSSDS) upholds the principles of transparency, accountability, and academic integrity in scholarly publishing. Authorship is limited to individuals who have made substantial intellectual contributions to the research and manuscript preparation.
To qualify as an author, an individual must have made significant contributions to one or more of the following: conceptualization and design of the study; data collection, acquisition, analysis, or interpretation; drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content; and reviewing and approving the final version of the manuscript prior to submission and publication. All authors must agree to be accountable for the accuracy, integrity, and originality of the work and must consent to its submission to the journal.
MJSSDS adopts the CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy) to promote transparency in author contributions. CRediT offers authors the opportunity to share an accurate and detailed description of their diverse contributions to the published work.
-
The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that the descriptions are accurate and agreed by all authors
-
The role(s) of all authors should be listed, using the relevant above categories
-
Authors may have contributed in multiple roles
-
CRediT in no way changes the journal’s criteria to qualify for authorship
Upon submission, authors are required to specify their individual contributions using one or more of the following CRediT roles, as applicable:

The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all eligible contributors are appropriately listed as authors, that contributor roles are accurately reported, and that all co-authors have reviewed, approved, and agreed to the submitted version of the manuscript.
Individuals who contributed to the study but do not meet the criteria for authorship, such as those providing technical assistance, administrative support, language editing, or general supervision without substantial intellectual contribution, should be appropriately recognized in the Acknowledgments section, subject to their consent.
The journal does not permit guest authorship, honorary authorship, or ghost authorship. Any request for changes in authorship—including addition, removal, or rearrangement of authors after manuscript submission—must be accompanied by a written justification and signed agreement from all listed authors, subject to editorial review and approval by the Mindoro Journal of Social Sciences and Development Studies Editorial Board.
In cases of authorship disputes, the journal reserves the right to suspend editorial processing until the matter is resolved through appropriate documentation or by the relevant affiliated institution(s), in accordance with recognized standards of publication ethics.
